The Miner Corporation is sponsoring a presentation by internationally acclaimed motivational speaker, bestselling author and expert on leadership and management practices Marcus Buckingham at Texas A&M University on Tuesday, October 7.
Texas A&M’s Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship at the Mays Business School is playing host to the visit by Buckingham, who will appear at the Rudder Theatre in College Station as part of a live nationwide tour.
The Center says Buckingham’s program “will focus on how to find true career direction, capitalize on your uniqueness, and create a work life that plays to your strengths. It will be an important and practical message for students making career plans as well as professionals that want to better manage their careers.”
Buckingham is the co-author of the bestselling books Now, Discover Your Strength and First Break All the Rules. A native of Great Britain, Buckingham interviewed thousands of employees during 17 years with the Gallup Organization. He later developed StrengthFinders, an online assessment that identifies five top strengths out of a list of 34 possible strengths.
Buckingham is considered one of the world’s leading authorities on employee productivity and the practices of leading and managing. He has presented to major companies such as Microsoft, Gap, Coca-Cola, Intel, and John Deere, and has been featured in dozens of publications, including Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
