MOBILITY AND MENTORSHIP

I’m a project manager for National Accounts for Miner Corporation, and I love working with our biggest customers on a national stage. When I joined Miner eight years ago, I was a stay-at-home mother who was ready to get back into the workforce. My career at Miner started when a friend, who worked as a coordinator for the company, called me and suggested I apply for a coordinator’s job in Phoenix, which I got and loved. Thanks to the ongoing support of my mentors, I was promoted to regional coordinator after three years, and then I started quoting jobs for account executives as part of Commercial Operations team. When the project manager job became available, I gratefully took on the new challenges with the enthusiastic support of my boss.

Miner’s leaders care about you personally and want you to succeed within the company long term. I’ve been fortunate enough to have mentors within the company who have always pushed me to apply for other roles within. Even if I didn’t get a new position the first time I applied, the people I work for would go out of their way to help me attain the skills necessary to take the next step, and that support only shows signs of growing going forward.

Now that I’ve made it to the National Accounts division of the company, it’s where I’d like to stay—and my mentor and I are already working on helping me climb the ladder once again. I’d like to manage a team someday, and Miner is making sure I acquire the necessary skills to make that dream a reality.
