I work as an account executive for MINER® Corporation—but that’s not where I started my career. Six years ago, I joined the company as an entry-level technician with no experience in this industry. After six months of training under more experienced technicians who were very collaborative and shared everything they knew with me, I started working technical jobs on my own. I fully expected to stay within the service function for my entire career but MINER provided me opportunities that better aligned with my skill set, which eventually brought me to my current role as an account executive.
One of the things I like most about MINER is their commitment to hire from within—each job opening is earmarked for internal applications first, which is how I learned of the account executive opportunity. I’ve always liked the idea of getting into sales, and I knew MINER would take the time to invest in making me the best account executive they could; they didn’t disappoint. The training programs at MINER are exceptional, and the sales training they hold in Atlanta is first-class. That’s when I realized I could do the job and do it well, thanks to MINER’s confidence in my abilities. Besides, I love a challenge.
I love the flexibility that working for MINER has provided me over the years, and the company has paid me good money throughout my career. I’m able to be at home with my family most days, and I have the privilege of being home when my kids get off the bus from school. My weekends are pretty open too. Sure, there are times when you have to take a phone call, but for the most part, you don’t have to take significant time away from the family to make a good living. If you come to work every day and learn everything you can, MINER is willing to put in the time and money to make sure you succeed. That’s what I love about MINER—if you’re willing to work hard, the sky’s the limit for your career.
